“If we approach nature and the environment without this openness to awe and wonder, if we no longer speak the language of fraternity and beauty in our relationship with the world, our attitude will be that of masters, consumers, ruthless exploiters, unable to set limits on their immediate needs. By contrast, if we feel intimately united with all that exists, then sobriety and care will well up spontaneously.”
-Pope Francis, Encyclical Letter Laudato Si’ On Care For Our Common Home
We will be meeting at Alum Creek Park in Westerville for short readings/prayer and then will proceed to clean up the park area, hike a portion of the Alum Creek trail, community gardens, Hannah Mayne Park, and return (picking up trash along the way). Total trip length will be approximately 4 miles. Please feel free to join us. We will hike rain or shine! If you can’t join us, please consider praying for our efforts and for creation (or plan a clean up in your community)! Trash bags & refreshments will be supplied.
